Well, my friends, it would seem Autumn is officially upon us.

All of a sudden the mornings are dark and misty, the evenings are long and severely lacking in pub garden sun, and the shops are full of both Halloween and Christmas products at the same time. It’s an odd time of year – but that’s all the more reason to embrace it!

Best of all, this is the perfect time to snuggle down and get your home looking beautiful for those cosy winter evenings. You may have already started to notice that a sort of nesting instinct starts to take over at this time of year, and we can help you use it. Below you’ll find some inspiration from us to get you started on a few DIY projects this Autumn.

First off: Get that table ready guys!

As scary as it may seem, Christmas is going to come around before we know it (we hate to break the news, but it’s really only 9 weeks until Christmas Day!) – and no one wants their in-laws sitting on the floor, spilling gravy all over the shop. 71cm hairpins add the finishing touch to the most glorious of dining areas – just take a look at this creation from @josel.chen over on Instagram:

It also gives you the excuse to wholeheartedly throw yourself into Autumn table décor. Whether you go all-in on the burnt orange, or simply add an ode to the pumpkin, you can create a table your family will be thrilled to eat at.

Next Up: Sort out your seating!

It’s not just the dining table that can benefit from a touch of Autumn styling. Jill over at Sew a Fine Seam found the rusty hairpin legs below in a landfill site (would you believe?!), and created the most charming front porch bench.

If you choose our unfinished hairpin legs, you’ll see the exact same effect after a few months. The metal is left uncoated, so will react to moisture in the area and rust over time – little tip for you there!

(Psst… we sell hairpin and bold steel benches too – your secret is safe with us!)

And Finally: Take a look around…

You can’t help but be inspired by the plethora of colours surrounding you at this time of year – and copper is a stunning way of bringing the outdoors into your home; without the accompanying chill in the air! You just have to glance at this gorgeous shot from Quirk UK to feel the warmth flooding back in. We offer copper hairpin legs in a wide range of sizes, so you’ll have no trouble finding a set that suits your project.
